Innovafeed is an AgTech company (B Corp Certified / Impact 40 / Next 40 / Most Innovative Company) and a global leader in insect production (Hermetia illucens – Black Soldier Fly) for animal and plant nutrition. Created in 2016, driven by the ambition to find innovative and disruptive solutions to the challenges faced by the global food system, it develops disruptive technologies that replicate natural processes on an industrial scale. By building a circular, waste-free food chain that replicates the natural role of the insect, Innovafeed reinvents our way of life with increased quality, sustainability, and resilience for all.

The company is undergoing a significant expansion of its production capabilities across multiple sites. Innovafeed’s growth began with the opening of its site in Nesle, France, in November 2020, which has become the world’s largest active insect production site. Additionally, in April 2024, Innovafeed launched the North American Insect Innovation Center (NAIIC) in Illinois, enhancing its research and innovation capabilities in the U.S. By the end of 2024, Innovafeed plans to further expand the Nesle site to a total area of 55,000 square meters and transform its Gouzeaucourt site into a leading European research and innovation center dedicated to insect-based solutions.

Innovafeed produces a range of products under the Hilucia™ brand, leveraging the natural upcycling abilities of Hermetia illucens (Black Soldier Fly) larvae. Here is a bullet list of the products they offer:

• Hilucia™ for Monogastrics: Designed for animals with a single-chambered stomach, such as pigs and chickens, providing high-quality nutrition.
• Hilucia™ for Pets: Created for pet food, offering nutrient-rich, environmentally friendly alternatives.
• Hilucia™ for Plants: An organic fertilizer made from the droppings of Black Soldier Fly larvae, promoting soil health and plant nutrition.
