EuroChem advances AI integration across business processes and production operations

EuroChem has announced the active implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) across its business processes and production operations, highlighting the Digital Assistant as a key initiative within its digitalization strategy. This proprietary development, crafted by the company’s IT team, utilizes a large language model (LLM) to simplify routine tasks, enhance employee productivity, and expedite the training of new staff.
The company’s digitalization agenda focuses on crafting unique digital solutions for the chemical industry, employing AI not only in production facilities but also across internal processes. In 2023 and 2024, the deployment of digital products yielded a significant financial impact, generating over 2 billion rubles ($26 million), with approximately 1.8 billion rubles ($23.4 million) attributed to AI initiatives. These AI modules have been instrumental in automating repetitive tasks and knowledge management, thereby reducing employee workload and accelerating task completion.
EuroChem’s IT team is also developing GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) assistants tailored for various departments, including HR, procurement, security, and maintenance. In 2024, Usolsky Potash Plant introduced a digital assistant designed for employee adaptation and support, based on the open-source Qwen 2.8 LLM model, and trained on internal company documents. This system has demonstrated a remarkable accuracy rate of above 96% and provides timely responses to employee inquiries. It holds the potential to evolve into a personalized assistant for each staff member.
A newly improved GPT assistant has optimized data processing algorithms, saves dialogue history and context, and emulates a more natural communication style. These enhancements have reduced response times and simplified specialists’ daily operations, boosting departmental efficiency.
In the following steps, EuroChem plans to integrate the digital assistant with the company’s internal corporate portal, Rhythm. This integration is expected to provide seamless access to current information and ensure robust data security without requiring online connectivity.
The successful pilot of the newly developed digital assistant expands its potential for broader application within the company. EuroChem is poised to continue its digital transformation, utilizing AI to automate functions, enhance productivity, and improve corporate services.
