Nutrien is looking for buyer for its fertilizer blending plants in Brazil

The Canadian agricultural giant Nutrien announced plans to divest its fertilizer blending facilities in Brazil as part of a broader strategy to optimize its global business operations. The company operated five fertilizer blending plants across Brazil but ceased its operations in 2024.
In a statement to Reuters, Nutrien revealed that the divestiture of its blending units is aligned with its global business optimization strategy. Brazil Journal reported that Nutrien has engaged a financial adviser to facilitate the sale of these facilities, citing sources who are privy to the matter.
Earlier in March 2024, Reuters disclosed that Nutrien had been contemplating divestments in South America. This included a potential overhaul in management and a pause on its recent acquisition activities in Brazil following significant losses in the region.
