Brazil Potash secured support from Mura indigenous people for its potash project development
Brazil Potash, which develops Brazil’s largest potash fertilizer deposit, has taken a step forward in its project by signing a Preliminary Cooperation Agreement with the Mura Indigenous Council (CIM) in Autazes. The agreement, facilitated by Brazil Potash’s subsidiary, Potássio do Brasil, establishes a foundation for mutual collaboration and benefits with the Mura Indigenous communities.
Central to the agreement is the implementation of the “Plano Bem Viver Mura,” a program dedicated to sustainable development and social and cultural initiatives for the indigenous villages represented by CIM. Furthermore, the pact ensures a commitment to socioeconomic and environmental programs that comply with existing environmental licenses and legal frameworks.
The agreement was tailored to meet the Mura People’s specific requirements and followed extensive community engagement spearheaded by CIM, which is the officially recognized representative body of the Mura People of Autazes.
