KBR’s ammonia technology selected by KazAzot in Kazakhstan
KBR (NYSE: KBR) has been chosen by KazAzot to supply the ammonia technology for Kazakhstan’s inaugural world-scale fertilizer complex, the company announced today. This partnership marks a significant step towards bolstering the agricultural capacity and food security of Kazakhstan and its surrounding regions.
The project involves KBR providing a technology license, along with its proprietary engineering design, equipment, and catalyst solutions for a new ammonia production facility capable of producing 2,000 metric tons per day in Aktau, Kazakhstan. Its advanced Purifier ammonia technology aims to deliver superior operational efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint relative to traditional technologies.
