Grupa Azoty launches AZOTY BUSINESS optimization program to achieve profitability
Grupa Azoty has announced the launch of the AZOTY BUSINESS program, a strategic initiative designed to transform and restructure the group into a more cohesive and cost-effective entity. This program seeks to solidify the company’s stance in the competitive European market for fertilizers, plastics, and OXO products.
The launch of the initial phase of AZOTY BUSINESS corrective actions has already realized approximately 350 million Polish Zloty ($85 million) in cost savings. These savings stem from a series of optimizations implemented from late March through October 2o24, including streamlined supervisory structures, organizational frameworks, and reductions in compensation, sponsorships, public relations, and management costs.
The AZOTY BUSINESS program involves comprehensive changes across the company, including the creation of a new management and organizational structure, cost optimization in all categories, consolidation of subsidiaries, and stringent control over investment expenditures. A noteworthy component of the program is the CAPEX Control Tower (CCT) team, which will oversee all investment projects to ensure fiscal discipline and efficiency.
Currently, in its operationalization phase, the program focuses on establishing the necessary infrastructure and launching priority initiatives to enhance business profitability. This phase will conclude with the formal adoption of the AZOTY BUSINESS Transformation Plan by the Management Board.
Following this, Grupa Azoty will embark on the full-scale implementation phase to further improve financial performance and reduce overall debt. In addition to operational enhancements, the Group is also updating its strategy and plans to launch a Decarbonization Program by the end of the first quarter of 2025.
