Robotics Plus unveils Prospr — AI-supercharged spraying robot for orchards and vineyards
Robotics Plus, an AgTech firm based in New Zealand, showcased its latest innovative product. Prospr is an autonomous, multi-use hybrid vehicle designed to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of orchard and vineyard operations. According to the creators, the robot has already been operating in US, Australia, and New Zealand. The vehicle is engineered to perform various crop tasks more effectively, reducing the dependency on manual labor while promoting environmental sustainability.
Prospr enhances operational efficiency, significantly reduces emissions by cutting down fuel consumption by 70% through its hybrid diesel-electric system, and minimizes the need for machine operators. The robot incorporates an advanced AI system for navigation, featuring a collision avoidance system that uses LiDAR and cameras. This setup ensures safe maneuvering in complex environments and maintains operational efficiency by avoiding unnecessary stops. Additionally, Prospr’s intuitive user interface allows operators to manage and monitor agricultural tasks remotely, enhancing operational flexibility and precision.
The vehicle supports various spraying configurations, allowing for dynamic control of spray rates and airspeed to optimize spray efficacy and target application more precisely than traditional sprayers.
