Nakhodka Fertilizer Plant installs primary equipment, starts production in 2025
Nakhodka Fertilizer Plant (NFP) has begun installing its main equipment: a crude methanol stabilization column has been installed on the foundation. The 44-meter column is not the largest of the four columns that will be installed — the largest one is impressively 72 meters high. Special cranes with a total lifting capacity of 2,500 tons were delivered to the construction site to install such equipment.
“This is a significant event for us, another successfully completed step towards launching production. We are on schedule and plan to install several more large plant equipment units on the foundation by the end of the year. After launch, the methanol synthesis unit will produce 5.4 thousand tons of methanol per day. At this rate, NFP will be among the top five leaders among similar plants in Russia,” said Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP.
NFP is one of the three largest investment projects in the Far East of Russia. After its launch in 2025, the plant in the first production stage will produce 1.8 million tons of methanol per year. After the launch of the second production stage, the plant will produce an additional 3 million tons of urea per year. The first stage is scheduled to reach its design capacity in 2025, creating an additional 1500 jobs in the region.
