Syngenta partners with Intrinsyx Bio for sustainable farming innovation
Syngenta Biologicals, a leader in cutting-edge agricultural biological solutions, and Intrinsyx Bio, a Silicon Valley biotech company that promotes sustainable agriculture, have announced a collaboration to bring a novel biological solution to agricultural markets globally.
This partnership aims to enhance farmers’ access to Intrinsyx Bio’s proprietary endophyte formulations. Endophytes are small microorganisms that colonize in plants and fix atmospheric nitrogen directly into the plant. This process increases the availability and uptake of key nutrients such as phosphorus and micronutrients, which are crucial for plant health. By reducing the need for synthetic fertilizers, these formulations offer farmers greater flexibility in nutrient management while lowering the environmental impact of farming. The formulations will be available as seed treatment and foliar applications for key agricultural crops.
Syngenta has been significantly investing in strengthening its portfolio of biological solutions for both plant and seed health. Since acquiring Valagro in 2020, the company has continued to invest heavily in research and development to achieve higher agricultural yields with lower environmental impact, a core pillar of Syngenta Group’s Sustainability Priorities.
