DPH Biologicals unveils new microbial nutrient enhancer
DPH Biologicals, a prominent developer and supplier of agricultural biologicals, has introduced Envelix Prime, a patented biological nutrient enhancer that uniformly coats bulk dry fertilizers. This new product combines a robust biological consortium with fertilizer in a single application, aiming to enhance agricultural productivity.
Mick Messman, President and CEO of DPH Bio, highlighted the dual benefits for the agricultural market: “Envelix Prime enables both retailers and growers to seamlessly unlock the value of biologicals on a broader scale,” he said. With just one pound of Envelix Prime capable of covering a ton of dry fertilizer, retailers can now differentiate their fertilizer blends with added biological benefits, while growers benefit from a streamlined, single-purchase application that promises enhanced performance and an increased return on investment.
Envelix Prime features a patented carrier that binds beneficial bacterial and fungal microorganisms to the fertilizer prill, enhancing nutrient uptake efficiency. In a 2023 trial on corn at the V3 leaf stage, application of Envelix Prime on MESZ fertilizer led to significant increases in the uptake of several key nutrients, including phosphorus (by 18%), sulfur (by 10%), boron (by 9%) and copper (by 8%).
Furthermore, Envelix Prime is the first product from DPH Biologicals to utilize the innovative Envelix Prime technology—a patented spore priming method that accelerates the germination of beneficial bacteria, enabling them to thrive even under extreme conditions. In testing, Prime technology allowed over 70% of bacterial spores to germinate at temperatures as high as 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, and nearly all spores germinated in high-salt environments, compared to significantly lower germination rates in non-Prime treated spores.
Envelix Prime is compatible with multiple fertilizer types, including MAP, DAP, and Urea, enhancing flowability and reducing issues during application.
The product is now available to retail partners and fertilizer blending facilities, offering a new solution for broad-acre production agriculture starting this fall.
