Chris Turner appointed Chief Commercial Officer at Pivot Bio
Pivot Bio has announced the appointment of Chris Turner as its new Chief Commercial Officer. Effective May 1, 2024, Turner will oversee the company’s global growth initiatives and its commercial sales organization. Reporting directly to CEO Chris Abbott, he will also serve as a key member of Pivot Bio’s executive leadership team.
Turner transitioned to Pivot Bio following a significant tenure at Bayer Corporation, where he most recently held the position of Head of the U.S. Crop Science division. During his time at Bayer, he was integral to managing nationwide commercial operations and led the field sales teams. His responsibilities included developing strategic market entry plans and driving the business goals for crop protection, branded seeds, and Bayer’s digital agriculture service, Climate FieldView.
Prior to his role at Bayer, Turner spent over two decades at Monsanto Company, where he cultivated extensive experience in market strategy implementation and strategic partnership development. His career began at FMC Corporation, where he served as a district sales leader.
A native of Northeast Missouri and raised on a farm, Turner possesses a deep-rooted passion for agriculture. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri and remains actively involved in farming. His profound industry experience and commitment to agriculture are expected to significantly contribute to Pivot Bio’s expansion both in the U.S. and internationally. Chris Abbott, CEO of Pivot Bio, expressed enthusiasm about Turner’s appointment, noting his reputation as a result-oriented leader with a consistent focus on performance. This strategic hire marks a pivotal step for Pivot Bio as the company aims to enhance its presence in the sustainable agriculture market globally.
