Pivot Bio enriches board with appointment of agribusiness veteran Jim Collins
Agricultural company Pivot Bio announced the appointment of James C. Collins Jr. to its Board of Directors as of January 23, 2024. Collins’ election introduces a wealth of experience and leadership to the board, reflecting his distinguished tenure in top-tier agribusinesses.

His extensive background in premier agricultural firms will significantly enrich our board,” remarked Pivot Bio CEO Chris Abbott. “His proven leadership in spearheading major agricultural companies, combined with a robust strategic growth vision, makes him an invaluable asset. Collins’ professional journey includes pivotal roles in major industry players. A current board member of Archers-Daniels-Midland and Vestaron, he recently concluded his tenure as the CEO of Corteva Agriscience. His prior roles encompassed serving as the chief operating officer for the agriculture division of DowDuPont and an executive vice president at DuPont, overseeing its agriculture segments, including DuPont Crop Protection and Pioneer Seed.
Collins holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Christian Brothers College and an MBA with an international business concentration from the University of Delaware. His extensive experience and commitment to sustainable agriculture and youth development position him as a strategic asset to Pivot Bio’s visionary journey.
