Mantec Technical Ceramics ships record order to Abu Qir
Mantec Technical Ceramics announced on Tuesday that it has shipped a record fertilizer-industry order of its specialist ceramic filtration tubes.
The UK-based firm said that the contract, which was worth £230,000, was with Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries, Egypt’s largest maker of nitrogen fertilizers, which it described as one of the most important players in the MENA region.
Mantec added that the order comprised several thousand filters of varying lengths, all of which it had to manufacture and dispatch within 12 weeks. The tubes ensure that the gas mixtures used in the fertilizer production process remain free from particulates, thereby safeguarding the effectiveness of downstream catalysts and maintaining efficiency.
The company’s sales director, Mark Berrisford, welcomed the deal, saying: ‘Egypt is strategically important, located close to major fertilizer user markets, and Abu Qir is a leading producer with ambitious expansion plans. We’re proud to be working alongside the company’s management and technical teams to achieve a successful gas filter installation.’
He added that ‘Mantec has been a key supplier of filtration tubes in this industry for many years, and we were able to make a compelling case to gain this substantial contract. The process in question relies heavily on the unique advantages offered by porous ceramic technology, where we believe we offer unrivaled expertise.’
