Lucent Bio secures over $3.6mn to bring seed-treatment tech to market
Lucent Bio announced on Tuesday that it has secured more than $3.6mn to expedite the development of its seed-treatment technology.
The Canadian agri-tech company described the product, Nutreos, as a biodegradable and micro-plastic free seed coating designed to promote strong germination, vitality, and crop establishment.
Lucent Bio said that the funding, which will be supplied by the PacifiCan development agency, will enable the firm to advance its research and development; expand its global market presence; and ensure that it adheres to eco-friendly production practices.
The announcement follows the opening of the Lucent Bio’s Soileos micronutrient fertilizer plant in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, earlier in November.
