Russian farmers will use GLONASS satellite navigation

From 2024, agricultural machinery in Russia will be equipped with a domestic high-precision positioning system. Alexey Raikevich, who holds the post of General Director of GLONASS, announced this within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum.
Alexey Raikevich explained that it’s critical for modern agricultural technology to have a high-precision positioning system for digital farming.
After most of foreign suppliers of high-precision equipment left the Russian market, GLONASS was faced with a severe challenge. The company had to urgently introduce their own technologies to replace those that had gone.
Alexey Raikevich noted that agricultural companies are showing great interest in domestic developments in the field of digital farming.
