PhosAgro received an electric locomotive from Ural Locomotives
The Granit electric locomotive is equipped with a unified cab, developed by the plant’s specialists in 2020. New approaches to lighting made it possible to change the shape of the buffer lights and the searchlight, as well as to use modern lighting devices inside the cabin. In order to achieve a view of the entire composition, the rear-view mirrors were replaced with CCTV cameras. In addition, the electric locomotive uses a front camera, which provides visibility of the dead zone when starting off and the visibility of the track section in front of the locomotive when moving backwards.
At the request of the customer, the track cleaners were modernized on the locomotive. The electric locomotive is painted in the customer’s corporate colors.
Ural electric locomotives “Granit” have been used in harsh climatic conditions for more than ten years. The first electric locomotive for PhosAgro was produced in December 2012. Due to the great economic efficiency of the locomotive and its good technical characteristics, the management of the mining and processing plant decided to purchase another two-section electric locomotive in 2018. Under the terms of the contract, all vehicles are serviced by Ural Locomotives throughout the entire life cycle. The enterprise plans to deliver to the customer one more electric locomotive by the end of this year.
