The European Union is concerned about the unavailability of mineral fertilizers
The agriculture ministers of all member states of the European Union have called for decisive action to ensure the availability of mineral fertilizers: as a result of the global geopolitical crisis and Western sanctions against Russia, which led to interruptions in the supply of natural gas, prices for agricultural products have risen significantly. Besides rising energy and mineral fertilizer prices, European farmers are facing adverse weather conditions.
The European Commission has pledged to present a plan to address the high cost of fertilizers in November. However, agriculture ministers have called for clear steps, which include the expansion of government support.
