Winter crops are being planted in the Rostov region
Winter crops in the Rostov region occupied 840 thousand hectares and 30% of the planned level for this year, said the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Konstantin Rachalovsky.
According to his statement, soil preparation for sowing is almost completed in the Rostov region, and farms are fully provided with seeds of domestic selection. Over 128 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers or 86% of the need for the second half of the year have been stored. For the harvest of 2023, 43 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers have already been applied to the soil.
“The past rains in the Rostov region help to replenish the moisture reserves in the soil necessary for the formation of the future crop, helping to obtain good uniform seedlings of winter crops,” said Viktor Goncharov, First Deputy Governor of the Rostov region.
