Autumn sowing campaign began in the Voronezh region
Farmers and agricultural enterprises of the Voronezh region have started sowing winter crops for next year’s harvest.
According to the state plan, winter grain crops should occupy 790.4 thousand hectares in the region. As of today, they have sown 97.1 thousand hectares (or 12.2% of the planned level), of which 89 thousand hectares are winter wheat, and 4.7 thousand hectares are rye.
For autumn fieldwork, farmers of the Voronezh region purchased 170.2 thousand tons of seeds and accumulated 129.3 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
