Nutrien will acquire Casa do Adubo distributor
The Canadian fertilizer producer Nutrien has announced the acquisition of Casa do Adubo, an agrochemical company with 39 stores and 10 distribution centers in Brazil’s main agricultural states.
The proposed deal is in line with Nutrien’s retail strategy: the purchase of Casa do Adubo should result in approximately $400 million in additional sales, boosting total sales in Latin America to approximately $2.2 billion a year.
“This acquisition expands our presence in Brazil from 5 states to 13, and will support farmers in a key world country that is increasingly responsible for growing crop yields and ensuring the food security of the planet,” said Ken Seitz, Acting President and CEO of Nutrien.
