Kaliningrad region increased rapeseed crops areas
The sown area of crops in the Kaliningrad region this year increased by 4.6 thousand hectares to 303 thousand hectares, the press-service of the regional government reports.
Soybean crops in the Kaliningrad region grew by 9.5 thousand hectares, spring rapeseed – by 4.7 thousand hectares, while grain and leguminous crops decreased by almost 12 thousand hectares due to existing restrictions on their export abroad and a fall in profitability of their cultivation.
According to the statement of the Minister of Agriculture of the Kaliningrad region Natalya Shevtsova, the structure of the sown area has been adjusted following the situation in the export and regional consumer markets and taking into account the needs of livestock breeding and the current state support.
