Supplies of fertilizers to Russian farmers are going smoothly
The Russian authorities are considering the creation of a purchase plan for mineral fertilizers. It’s also planned to extend quotas for the export of mineral fertilizers for the upcoming agricultural season 2022-2023, said the Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev during a government meeting.
“The period of peak demand for mineral fertilizers in February-March has passed without any failures. Domestic producers supplied over 1 million tons of ammonium nitrate during the month. Among other taken measures, it became possible due to the ban on fertilizer exports,” said Dmitry Patrushev.
According to the statement of the Minister, there are no problems with shipments of plant protection products as well. To smooth possible negative consequences of sanctions imposed by the EU and the US against Russia, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree which allows imports of pesticides and fertilizers into Russia until July 1 this year.
