Haifa Group secures its path to Ecuador
The Israeli Haifa Group has signed an agreement with the Dutch Hortocoop to purchase its subsidiary Horticoop Andina, which specializes in wholesales of mineral fertilizers in Ecuador. Horticoop Andina has been the distributor of Haifa Group for the past 12 years.
The deal says that the current director of Horticoop Andina, Martin Boekholt, will retain his post, but the company will change its name to Haifa Ecuador. It will become the 17th sales enterprise of Haifa Group in the world.
“This agreement is an important step in the expansion of the Haifa Group activities in Latin America and its subsequent establishment as one of the world’s leading suppliers of mineral fertilizers. Ecuador is a strategic market and we look forward to securing a foothold in it,” said Haifa Group CEO Motti Levin.
