Yara intends to overtake the digital market of Brazil
Norwegian producer of mineral fertilizers Yara International (hereinafter Yara) intends to increase the share of online sales in the sales structure in Brazil to 25% by 2025.
To achieve this goal, Yara will use two digital tools. The first one is its own electronic trading platform, designed to sell the entire portfolio of mineral fertilizers the company produces. The second one is a marketplace where Yara will collaborate with traders and agricultural cooperatives that buy and sell mineral fertilizers through various online channels.
“Our trading platform will offer consumers a complete product portfolio. We are also entering the marketplace, where our products will be sold through independent firms of our partners,” said Chantal Ghannam, Director of digital solutions in Yara.
Initially, electronic sales will be conducted in 11 states of Brazil (Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí, Pará, Espírito Santo, Pernambuco, Bahia, Sergipe, Alagoas, Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte), then spreading throughout the country.
