Ammonium nitrate is planned to be produced in Yakutia
The Nitro-Mechanics company signed an agreement with the Agency for attracting investments and supporting exports of Yakutia and the Corporation for the development of the Far East, providing for the creation of the ammonium nitrate production.
Nitro-Mechanics plans to invest 6.5 billion rubles (approximately $883 million) in the project. The future enterprise should produce up to 100 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate per year.
To implement the project, the company is looking for a land plot of 2 hectares, located within a kilometer of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, railways, and the Lena highway. The availability of electricity and water supply sources is also required.
Currently, there are only two ammonium nitrate producers in Siberia — Kemerovo Azot and the Angarsk Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant.
