Israel Chemicals breaks into organic farming
Control Union Certifications issued permission to Israel Chemicals to sell polyhalite-based fertilizers (complex potassium, calcium, and magnesium sulfate) for the needs of organic agriculture. Israel Chemicals will market it under the polysulfate brand.
The product is obtained at the Boulby mine (United Kingdom), then it’s crushed, sieved, and packed in bags. Polyhalite is a complex fertilizer containing four elements important for plant growth, namely sulfur, magnesium, potassium, and calcium.
“The market of organic farming is growing rapidly, driven by consumer demand. With polysulfate, we will play an even more important role in fulfilling the changing global demand for food,” said Eli Amon, Chief Commercial Officer at Israel Chemicals.
