International Center for Corn Breeding is being established in China
The International Research Center for Corn Breeding will soon open in the city of Sanya (Hainan Province, China). Its creation is controlled by China Agricultural University.
Among its tasks is the application of the latest inventions in the field of genetic engineering during China’s economic interaction with countries participating in the implementation of the One Belt One Road initiative.
The future center will also train specialists in the field of crop breeding and cooperation with other states to exchange technologies and genetic resources.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
