Uzbekistan will establish its own plant protection department
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the establishment of the Agency for Quarantine and Protection of Plants in Uzbekistan.
The functions of the new Agency will include the implementation of a unified state policy and control in the field of quarantine and plant protection, agrochemistry, conducting agrochemical soil analysis and quality control of all types of mineral and microbiological fertilizers, radiological and toxicological analysis of the pesticide residues, nitrates and salts of heavy metals in soil and agricultural products in the field, development of regulations in the use of chemicals and biological agents in agriculture.
The future Agency also provides for the creation of a research institute for the quarantine and protection of plants within its structure.
