Russia introduced flexible duties on grain exports
On June 2, flexible duties on grain exports from Russia came into force. Earlier, its rates were determined by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The export duty rate for wheat will be $28.1 per ton, for barley $39.6, and for corn $52.2. It was calculated based on indicative prices for cereal crops: $240.2 per ton for wheat, $241.7 per ton for barley, and $259.7 per ton for corn.
Export duties on grain will be in force until June 8 inclusive. Previously, the duty rate on barley was determined at €10 per ton, on corn at €25, and on wheat at €50.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
