Two new greenhouse complexes will be constructed in Chukotka
According to the statement of the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Chukotka federal subject, by the end of the next year, two greenhouse complexes will be built in the region.
The construction of complexes will begin in summer 2022. Each greenhouse will be with an area of 0.6 hectares and will produce 400 tons of vegetables per year.
“Such projects are necessary for the Far North. Growing something in such cold weather is a hard problem. However, with modern greenhouse complexes, we will be able to provide locals with our own products,” reported the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Chukotka federal subject, specifying that by 2024, 8.4% of the population of the region will be provided with local vegetables.
