Nevinnomyssky Azot failed the environmental inspection
The Caucasian Department of Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor) inspected the potassium nitrite production at Nevinnomyssky Azot (part of EuroChem).
During the inspection, Rostechnadzor revealed 9 violations of the Urban Development Code of Russia. It was found out that control over the sequence and composition of technological operations wasn’t fully implemented. There is a crack in the monolithic reinforced concrete foundation, which exceeds the maximum allowable opening width. The projected monitoring of the technical condition of buildings and structures that fall into the zone of influence of new construction and natural and man-made impacts is not carried out.
Based on the results of the inspection, Rostechnadzor ordered to eliminate the identified violations. Nevinnomyssky Azot was also obliged to pay a fine of 100 thousand rubles ($1350).
