Uralchem acquired a controlling stake in Uralkali
Uralchem acquired shares of Uralkali, which is one of the world’s largest producers of potassium chloride. As a result of the deal, Uralchem has the right to manage over 75% of the capital of Uralkali.
The acquisition of control over Uralkali will allow both companies to continue a consistent policy of increasing production, logistics and sales efficiency through the formation of packaged offers to consumers, as well as the opportunity to introduce the widest range of products based on nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus in the key consumption markets of the world.
“Uralchem’s acquisition of a controlling stake in Uralkali is a commercial project due to the high marginality of the potash fertilizer market with the confidence in its further growth and stable demand for the company’s products. We see the potential for increasing the efficiency of Uralchem and Uralkali as a result of the experience exchange, standardization of processes, and joint application of best practices,” said Dmitry Mazepin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uralchem.
