Nakhodka Fertilizer Plant construction will be monitored by environmentalists
Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of the Primorsky region, has instructed to create an environmental social council that will monitor the construction and further operation of the Nakhodka Fertilizer Plant (NFP).
According to his statement, the establishment of the enterprise should comply with the requirements of environmental laws and be under public control.
“I believe that compliance of the construction with the requirements of environmental, urban planning and land legislation is a top priority of the project,” said Oleg Kozhemyako.
Therefore, he instructed the municipal authorities of Nakhodka city, together with the management of NFP, to complete the formation of the social council as soon as possible. He noted that the council needs not only to monitor the construction and further operation of NFP but also to implement environmental projects relevant to the territory of the region.
