Russia boosts crop protection agents production
According to the Federal State Statistics Service, in January-March this year, the output of crop protection agents sharply increased in Russia.
As the agency reports, in the first quarter of 2020, the production of herbicides rocketed by 66.4% to 25.5 thousand tons. The production of fungicides rose by 4.9% to 6.6 thousand tons.
In March, the output of herbicides increased by 47% (compared to the same month last year) and amounted to 10.2 thousand tons. While the output of fungicides fell by 19.4% to 2.8 thousand tons.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
