BPC took Uralkali down a peg
Uralkali made a statement criticizing the price of the contract signed by Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) with a consortium of Chinese consumers for the supply of potassium chloride. BPC couldn’t disregard the statement and posted their response on Twitter.
“For the first time, Chinese price is higher than Brasilian. We are quite used to Uralkali’s comments. Doubtfully, that the market should consider particular producer’s financial problems and debt burden while specifying an agreement so important for the whole fertilizer market,” it says.
Belarusian Potash Company sells products of Belaruskali on the world market. The competitor of BPC for potash is Uralkali which key shareholder is Russian businessman Dmitry Mazepin.
