Russia importing more crop protection products
In January of this year, the import of crop protection chemicals into the Russian market increased by 13.1% (compared to the same month in 2019) and amounted to 7 thousand tons, as reported by the Federal Customs Service.
In monetary terms, their imports expanded by 26.5% to $ 52.8 million.
Last year, the supply of chemical crop protection agents to the domestic market of Russia amounted to 112.6 thousand tons, which is 4.7% higher than the level of 2018. In monetary terms, their import fell by 10% to $ 770.3 million.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
