Russian government to track fertilizer prices
The Russian government will monitor the prices for fertilizers and fuels and lubricants to ensure that the spring sowing campaign progresses smoothly, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The Prime Minister noted that a successful sowing campaign is the basis for increase in agricultural revenues and agricultural export growth.
Mr Mishustin believes that “now is quite a busy time [for farmers] and it is important that they have everything necessary for a successful sowing, including access to financial resources, among others soft loans, high-quality seeds, inexpensive agricultural machinery, as well as fuel and mineral fertilizers.”
The Prime Minister called for transfer of unused agricultural land into active economic turnover. In addition, Mikhail Mishustin remarked that the government plans to develop agricultural insurance in order to protect agricultural producers from economic losses and other risks.
