PhosAgro to expand support for farmers of the Vologda region
PhosAgro and the Vologda Oblast Administration have entered into an agreement on the reliable supply of mineral fertilizers to agricultural producers of the region in 2020.
The document, signed by Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov and PhosAgro CEO Andrey Guryev, is designed to contribute to the sustainable development of the agribusiness in the Vologda Oblast.
Under the agreement, PhosAgro plans to deliver up to 35 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers to farmers of the Vologda Oblast, which is almost 10% more than the supplies in 2019. The main volume of mineral fertilizers demanded by Vologda farmers is scheduled to be shipped before June this year during the spring sowing campaign.
“PhosAgro is our longstanding and reliable strategic partner. The company invests billions in new production, into innovative products, social and charitable programs. Owing to its support, the agribusiness in the Vologda Oblast is steadily developing,” said the Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov. “PhosAgro fertilizers, being the most environmentally friendly in the world, are the key to Vologda farmers’ increasing productivity, as well as the most important pert in the production of the premium brands of Vologda products, known for their quality and environmental friendliness far beyond the region. Therefore, an agreement with PhosAgro is the foundation of food safety of the Vologda Oblast and the whole country.”
By signing the agreement, PhosAgro CEO Andrey Guryev expressed gratitude to the Vologda Oblast Administration and personally to the Governor for supporting the company’s production and social projects.
“In the Vologda Oblast, we always find support for our strategic initiatives, social, production and investment programs. Through the efforts of the Governor and the Administration, a favorable investment climate has been created here, which allowed PhosAgro to successfully implement a large-scale investment project in the region for the construction of a high-tech production of ammonia and granular urea, social programs in the field of education, health, youth policy, youth sports and high-performance sports. And this gave a powerful impetus to the socio-economic development of the region.
Soon, PhosAgro will launch commercial production of ammonium sulfate, sulfuric and nitric acids in Cherepovets, and we will build a new house for our employees.
Regarding the essence of the agreement signed today [March 9], it can be noted that the Vologda Oblast farmers are lucky to have at their hand the production of the best, most environmentally friendly fertilizers in the world, which provide such an important competitive advantage as the environmental friendliness of agricultural products and do not lead to soil pollution with heavy metals,” said Andrey Guryev.
