Salt Lake Potash has contracted Mitsui
The Japanese Mitsui Corporation has signed a five-year agreement with the Australian company Salt Lake Potash on the supply of water soluble sulfate of potash (SOP), which will be produced from brines of Lake Way as part of the Goldfields Salt Lakes project.
Under its terms, Salt Lake Potash will initially ship 4 thousand tons of SOP per year to Mitsui for its subsequent sale into Japan, Cambodia, Bangladesh, South Korea, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Taiwan.
As a result, Salt Lake Potash has secured sales for 224,000 of 245 thousand tons per year Lake Way production. The company had previously reached similar agreements with Helm, Unifert, Indagro and Fertisur.
