Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers has launched a new production facility
A new automated complex to manufacture water-soluble mineral fertilizers under the Solar and Aqua Drop brands has begun its work in the Compound Mineral Fertilizers Department of Ammophos Shop # 2 of the Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers enterprise (part of Uralchem). This will allow to double the output of compound fertilizers – up to 18 thousand tons per year.
To scale up production, measures were taken to expand the site of the Compound Mineral Fertilizers Department, as well as to include new in-line equipment: four hoppers with dispensers, a crane beam, unloaders, a conveyor belt and a mixer. This made it possible to minimize the use of manual labor, stabilize the production process and improve the product quality. For example, the dispensers used allow to automatically supply a dye weighing from 50 grams. The automated complex is monitored by an operator who controls the level of raw materials in the bunkers and the dosage accuracy.
In January, the new complex produced 368 tons of water-soluble fertilizers. The maximum capacity was 65 tons per day.
The Solar line producing 10 brands of NPK Micro water-soluble fertilizers was launched at Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers in 2016. Fertilizer mixtures based on Solar MAP are seasonal and are used in soil greenhouses and for the main crops grown in the open fields. Fertilizers under the Aqua Drop brand are presented in four brands of complex nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilizers (NPK).
“The measures taken allowed us, first of all, to automate many production processes,” said Sergey Shulyatnikov, head of Compound Mineral Fertilizers Department. – Previously, individual chemical components (trace elements, conditioner, magnesium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, urea and dyes) were prepared manually for the manufacture of fertilizer mixtures, now the process is fully automated, and the freed labor resources were sent to perform other production tasks. Currently, the automated complex is operating normally and has reached its targets, the average productivity is 60 tons per day.”
