Sirius Minerals has found a new distributor
The British company Sirius Minerals has signed a ten-year supply and distribution agreement with Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution (Muntajat) to secure the sale and distribution of Poly4 into the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
Muntajat is a state-owned Qatari company, sells approximately 9 million tons of mineral fertilizers per year.
Sirius Minerals is currently building the Woodsmith Mine. Upon commissioning, Woodsmith Sirius Minerals will market Poly4, a polyhalite-based fertilizer, which has already been nicknamed a “potassium chloride killer” for its valuable agricultural properties.
Being built 3 miles south of Whitby, the Woodsmith mine will develop the rich polyhalite deposits that have been discovered in the North Sea along the northeast coast of Great Britain. The polyhalite layer lies at a depth of 1.5 km and spreads over 796 square km, 535 square km area of which is located in the marine coastal zone.
Last year, Sirius Minerals signed an agreement with Cibra Group for the supply and resale of Poly4 into South America.
