Fertiberia Group will get a new owner
A consortium of investment funds led by the British Triton has signed an agreement with Grupo Villar Mir to acquire the Spanish Fertiberia Group.
The terms and conditions of the transaction are not disclosed by the parties.
Fertiberia Group produces a wide range of mineral fertilizers (both simple and complex) for agriculture: ammonia, urea, ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate, etc. It employs 1.4 thousand people and has a wide logistics network.
Today, the Fertiberia Group is one of the leading manufacturers of mineral fertilizers in the European Union.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
