The OPP privatization process lacks political will
The only thing needed to kick off privatization of the Odessa Port Plant (OPP, Ukraine) is the political will, believes Rebwar Berzinji, President of Pericles Capital Advisors.
According to Mr. Berzinji’s opinion, almost everything is ready for the privatization of the enterprise, including documentation, and the entire process has been arranged. However, the privatization process was blocked and not completed. Now, a Ukrainian government’s decision is required to announce a competitive tender to sell the Odessa Port Plant.
Rebvar Berzinji noted that six months are enough to come up for the auction.
“If we are not artificially hampered..,” he said.
Moreover, there are already two bidders for the purchase of the enterprise.
