Grodno Azot selects a general contractor
A broadened meeting of the tender committee was held at the Grodno Azot plant (Belarus). During the meeting, the envelopes with technical and commercial proposals submitted to the competition for the selection of the general contractor of a new nitrogen plant were opened.
The official start for the preparation of technical and commercial proposals was given on 29 January 2019. It was then that representatives of nine companies from different countries—China, Switzerland, Italy, South Korea, France, and Japan—were provided with the required tender documents.
As a result, Grodno Azot officially accepted turnkey nitrogen plant construction proposals from four potential contractors: three Chinese and one Italian.
In the near future, the short listed worked will be evaluated according to special criteria; afterwards, the winner will be determined, and a contract will be concluded.
The new plant will produce 900 thousand tons of ammonia and over 1 million tons of urea per year.
